About Eorzean Heardle

Hiya! I'm AG. I wanted to make a brief, extended about page for a few things regarding this heardle.

I decided to make this after the original XIV heardle repeatedly went down and had continuous errors.
I wanted to continue to play some kind of XIV heardle, and I'd made two before this before, so I thought I would try to make my own.

This is the second edition of this heardle. The first launched 2022-07-07. This one launched 2024-01-02. Happy new year!

I picked songs based on a variety of criteria: memorability, fan-favorites, significance, whether or not it had an orchestrion…
I considered whether or not it came from content people loved, hated, if I knew that there would be people who were particularly fond of the part of the game it's from… Hopefully there is something for everyone!

There is a total of… 537(!) songs as of writing this. You can find a list of songs included here, a list of songs modified specifically for the heardle here, and a (sloppy) omission list here.

Songs & accompanying information originally compiled from the various Spotify albums, eorzeanmusic.com (RIP), and the FFXIV consolegames wiki. Special thanks to Uvi's Endwalker OST playlist on Youtube.
As of the second edition, special thanks to a friend of mine for fact-checking my info.

On the results screen, the song's attached image will reflect the content based on Expansion, Seasonal, or Miscellany.
This is mostly so that if you are trying to avoid spoilers, before you look something up, you'll know right away what expansion it's from!
